COFFEE & CONNECTION
Our blog about COFFEE &
Community, Connection, Conversation, Collaboration, Culture & Columbus
This is the kickoff post for our blog: COFFEE & (That is: Coffee and)
This year we want to focus more on connecting with our customers and creating a deeper community. Creating this blog is a small part of connecting us a little deeper with YOU, our customers, who we like to think of as friends.
On the Coffee & blog we will be sharing things like:
Collaborations we are working on.
Coffee-related recipes - Hello, Highlander Grog Iced Coffee!
Upcoming events and workshops we are hosting or participating in
Updates about our stores- New stores, product launches, etc.
Trends in the coffee world- New coffees, up and coming brewing products, new ways to brew.
More in-depth explanations of coffee drinks - the nitty gritty of how to make a good espresso, pour over and more!
Details about some of the farms that supply our coffee.
And much, much more!
Since it is still early in 2019, in this article we’re going to do a recap of 2018, and upcoming plans we have for 2019.
Last year was a good one for us- in the Spring we opened up our 5th store in the Discovery District, and have been enjoying the community surrounding that shop. Having Ballet Met, Platform Beer Co, CCAD and Columbus State right next door we have enjoyed getting to know our neighbors and the neighborhood!
In September we celebrated our 30th anniversary, and finished up the month with a party at our Grandview shop. We ended the year filled with so much gratitude about being able to serve Columbus our coffee for 30 great years and that we get to continue doing what we love: bringing you great coffee!
We started off this year with the announcement of our plans to open a 6th shop in the Victorian Village in Spring of 2019. We are excited to serve coffee to the community in Victorian Village and surrounding neighborhoods!
In April we are sending a few of the Stauf’s crew to Boston for the 2019 Specialty Coffee Expo. We will be posting behind-the-scenes footage from Coffee Expo, and giving our social media followers an exciting look at what’s new in the coffee world. It will also be a great opportunity for us to get new ideas about what new coffee practices and equipment to offer our customers in the near future.
This year we will continue to partner with Star House-- a local center for youth experiencing homelessness in Columbus-- to raise support for the organization, and even train some of the youth on customer service certification! We love what Star House is doing, and we want to continue helping them accomplish their goals.
Thank you for taking the time out of your busy lives to read our first blog post. Leave a comment, question, or topic you’d like to see covered in future Coffee & blog posts!
