Black Tea - Scented

Dry Aroma: Intense layers of cinnamon, sweet and high nose like Chinese cassia.

Wet Aroma: Lemon zest, heady cinnamon, and a faint hint of clove and orange zest.

Cup: This unique spicy, naturally sweet flavor has become world famous, originating in Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. A staple at Stauf's for over 10 years, this tea was brewed nearly everyday for iced tea. When cupped, this tea has a luminous, pumpkin-orange liquor. An intense bloom of cinnamon greets the palate, followed by a lingering almost candy-like sweetness, and a pleasant spicy sting that shifts to sweet quickly. Moderate bodied with no astringency, but has a deep long lingering aftertaste that is rich with cinnamon and a slight lemon-orange finish.

Directions: Try using 3 grams (1 tsp) per 8oz in 200 degree water and steep for 4-5 minutes. Avoid adding cream as the pure cinnamon oil and strong citrus can cause the milk to separate. For a surprising iced tea, use 1.5 oz to 1 gallon of cold water and steep overnight in the fridge, garnish with orange and lemon slices and serve over ice.
